Ferrosilicon Alloy

Description

Ferrosilicon is a ferroalloy that combines iron and silicon. This alloy, known as ferrosilicium, is produced using raw materials such as coke, steel shavings, and quartz (or silica), which are smelted in an electric furnace.

Commonly utilized as a deoxidizer in steel production, ferrosilicon also serves as an alloying element additive. Its versatile applications span a range of sectors, including low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel. Within the iron industry, it functions as an inoculant and nodulizer. Additionally, it plays a role as a reducing agent in the production of ferroalloys and in the chemical industry.
